Daughter of Ike Ekweremadu Requests Kidney Donor

The public has been asked to donate a kidney to Sonia, the daughter of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.

She posted a plea on her Instagram page on Monday. The teen's parents are currently accused of organ harvesting in the United Kingdom.

"I, Sonia Ekweremadu, hereby appeal to the people to come to my assistance and preserve my life," she added.

"I discontinued my postgraduate studies at the University of Newcastle in 2019 after learning that I have FSGS Nephrotic Syndrome, a rare kidney condition. I was rushed to several hospitals by my family in an effort to save my life, but the condition remained and continued to worsen.

Thanks to God's particular favor, I am still alive today. I currently receive five hours of dialysis three to four times per week in London, United Kingdom. My family will pay for this because I am ineligible for the NHS due to my immigrant status.

"The charges my parents are currently facing in London are directly related to my condition, and they have made things more difficult for me and my family.

"In the aforementioned situation. In the name of God, I am pleading with anyone who would listen to donate a kidney voluntarily.
